CLUB MEETING 28th September 2002

CADET

From the first lap in the Cadet final at Ellough on 28th September, Nick Wones & Thomas Fitzpatrick pulled out a lead over the chasing pack, swapping positions several times. On the last lap, Nick ran wide on an infield corner, allowing Thomas through to take the win. Kieran Smith following up for 3rd and Alex Widdrington charging through the pack to claim 4th place. Ben Samson came 5th with 1st restricted and 8th place going to Andrew Moore.

JUNIOR TKM

Ryan Cole having had 3 wins in the heats, started from pole and led the 22 kart final from start to finish. Leading the chasing group in hot pursuit was Dean Hill, eventually finishing 2nd, followed home by Matt Skelton in 3rd. Jamie Bardwell and Jordan Kendal finishing 4th and 5th respectively.  Tristam Macro took 9th place overall as 1st restricted.   Aston Baker drove well to take the win in the Minimax class.  The club is looking to attract more Minimax drivers so if you have one and fancy a race please give us a look at Ellough Park.

JUNIOR TKM INTERMEDIATE

Ruth Senior took a comfortable lead from the start, leaving James Blyth and Reece Broady to fight for 2nd place. Ben Conner in 4th place until the last lap, slipped by both of them to take 2nd place.  Reece Broady was 3rd  followed by Adam Blackmore in 4th. Jame Blyth trailing in 5th.

JUNIOR ROTAX, J.I.C.A AND YAMAHA

In the Junior Rotax it was Clark Randall who pulled away for a easy victory ahead of Rory Brodie in 2nd & Robin Shute in 3rd.  Gary Findley taking the JICA with Matt Simpson claiming 1st position in the Yamaha class.

SENIOR TKM

The Senior TKM final resulted in a comfortable win for Jason Thurlow, finishing ahead of 2nd place driver Ben Tyler.  Stuart Jiggins claiming 3rd spot, with Nathan Roberts in 4th and Dan Bramham in 5th position.

SENIOR ROTAX

The final race of the day saw Kevin Bishop take an early advantage from the lights as pole man Julian Warner’s kart hesitated as it crossed the line.  Julian, Paul Worley and Carl Hunnibell, all following in a tight group. However, Kevin Bishop kept a 3 kart lead for the rest of the race and crossed the line to take 1st place.  Julian Warner finishing in 2nd place, with Carl Hunnibell getting 3rd place just ahead of a hard charging Gavin Petty in 4th. Mark Bowen 5th, Craig Turner 6th and David Adams 7th.  1st restricted went to Paul Canning.
