FINAL ROUND OF THE SUMMER SERIES 23rd NOVEMBER 2002

CADET

Kieran Smith led the field away in the Cadet final at Ellough on 23rd November, Nick Wones kept on his rear bumper and took the lead for 2 laps at the midway point, but Kieran fought back and re-took the lead and held it until the flag. Nick Wones finishing in 2nd place, with Oliver Hodgson taking 3rd spot. Luke Branch was 4th, with Sam Blake as 1st restricted. In the Honda Cadet class, Connor Summers taking the flag in 1st place with William Simpson in 2nd place. James Brown taking 1st place in the WTP class.

JUNIOR TKM / MINIMAX

A grid of 17 karts started the final of Junior TKM’s & Minimax’s. Close racing action between 6 racers saw Danny Fiske eventually crossing the line to take the win, with Peter Hargreaves in 2nd and Matt Skilton in 3rd. Dean Hill finished in 4th place, closely followed by Tristam Macro in 5th with Stuart Macclinton in 6th. Thomas Brown was 1st restricted. Rupert Svendson-Cook was in 1st place in the Mini-max class, having started at the back of the field and working his way through the pack to finish in 2nd place on track.

JUNIOR TKM INTERMEDIATE / JUNIOR ROTAX / JICA

The combined field of 3 classes was given a lesson in controlled driving by Clark Randall in Junior Max kart. Although coming under pressure from the chasing pack, Clark pulled out a five-metre lead, which he held all the way to the finish flag. James Chittenden finishing in 2nd spot in the Rotax class, Robin Shute was in 3rd place with Rory Brodie in 4th. Penni Stanton taking the 5th spot.  In the Junior Intermediate class, Ruth Senior continued her successful seasons racing to take the win, followed home by Adam Blackmore in 2nd place. Daniel Laddiman in an excellent 3rd place with Ben Conner in 4th place. Gary Findley took the win in the JICA class.

SENIOR TKM

Stuart Jiggins led the field in the Senior TKM final for all laps except the last, when Jason Thurlow made the most of a rare opportunity to slip past and take the win. Stuart Jiggins coming in 2nd place, Nathan Roberts in 3^rd and John Roberts in 4th place.

SENIOR ROTAX

Plenty of action in the Senior Rotax Max final saw Julian Warner and Gordon Chennery changing places several times in the first few laps before Gordon, using his many years of karting experience, slid past Julian and pull out a two metre lead. Behind Julian, Carl Hunnibell, Joe Scorey and Kevin Bishop were all dicing for the 3rd spot. At the line, Gordon Chennery did enough to take the win over Julian Warner in 2nd place. Kevin Bishop overtaking Joe and Carl to take 3rd spot, Joe Scorey finishing in 4th. Carl Hunnibell finishing 5th and Jason Baker in 6th. Gavin Petty in 7th place with Craig Turner in 8th. 1st restricted position went to Paul Canning in 10th.

125 GEARBOX

Only two karts, driven by brothers, Jonathon & Richard Weavers, contested the 125 Gearbox final. Jonathon taking an early lead ahead of Richard until lap 2, when Richard pulled ahead of his brother and stayed in front until the chequered flag. Jonathon finishing in 2nd place.
