Oliver Hindle led off the field in the first of the winter series finals after three good heat finishes put him on pole. Coming out of the first corner Craig Pollard was in second place, ahead of Teddie Harvey in third. Thomas Stanway making the best progress, moving up to fourth at the end of the first lap. The race quickly settled down with Thomas making every effort to pass Teddie as Oliver and Craig were beginning to leave the field behind. Lap three saw Thomas pass Teddie for third place with Craig ten metres ahead. Consistent driving from Jake Wenham put him in fourth place. Three laps later and Thomas had caught and passed Craig for second place. Oliver by this time had a significant lead. Unfortunately, a red flag incident on lap eight, saw the race restarted with all karts together in a line. Oliver immediately set about trying to open out a gap, but Thomas stayed with him and next lap overtook Oliver for the lead. Problems for Teddie saw him drop to the back end of the field. James Harris made the most of the compressed field, moving up to fourth place by lap eleven. Michael Headland staying on James rear bumper moved up to fifth. On the last lap James slipped down the inside of Craig for third place. At the flag, a well deserved win for Thomas Stanway ahead of Oliver Hodgson in 2nd. James Harris coming home in 3rd, with Craig Pollard in 4th. Michael Headland finishing in 5th position, Kieran Brady in 6th.
HONDA CADET
Mitchell Squire started on pole after two heat wins, produced some excellent driving to take the win ahead of restricted driver Lewis Bond.
JUNIOR TKM
Triple heat winner Daniel Bishop led away from the lights ahead of Lee Waters and Tom Braddock. Sitting behind Daniel gave Tom the advantage, coming out of the first corner in second place. Lee didn’t have to wait too long before regaining second place on the second lap. Taking advantage of the battle behind him, Daniel quickly opened out a large gap, which he held on to take the chequered flag. Lee Waters coming home in 2nd place overall and as1st place restricted driver. Tom Braddock finishing in 3rd.
JUNIOR ROTAX MAX
Bradley Smith started from pole position after three heat wins. Leading to the first corner ahead of Luke Branch, Ben Squire and Ben Hughes. Bradley, keeping a good line and speed in to the corners made sure of keeping a four metre lead over Luke. The two Bens, not too far back in third and fourth places, were having their own separate battle. At the flag, a well deserved win for Bradley Smith ahead of Luke Branch in 2nd. Ben Hughes in 3rd overall and being the 1st restricted driver. Ben Squire coming home in 4th place. Ben Squire also received the marshals driver of the day trophy for his driving and overtaking skills throughout the day.
MINI-MAX
A good start from Daniel Fisher from the green light, ahead of Luke Davenport and Clinton Bridge. Problems for Clinton on lap three, left it as a two kart race. Daniel, with some steady driving kept the lead to the flag. Luke Davenport finishing in 2nd position.
SENIOR ROTAX MAX
Gavin Jones starting from pole led away from the lights, Patrick Miller in second, ahead of Gavin Petty and Kevin Bishop. Patrick took the lead before the first corner, leaving Jones in second. Quality driving from the leading group meant overtaking chances were minimal. Lap seven before Petty made a move on Jones for second place, but going too wide on the corner allowed Bishop through for third. Petty dropped down to fourth. Jones continued the pressure on Miller, resulting in him regaining the lead on lap eleven. Forceful overtaking from Petty saw him get past Bishop to go into third. Paul Canning, not too far back in fifth place was waiting to pick up places if the others made any mistakes. Lap thirteen, with Miller struggling to keep up with the pace of Jones, made an error, allowing Petty and Bishop through. At the finish flag, a win for Gavin Jones ahead of Gavin Petty in 2nd place. Kevin Bishop in 3rd, closely followed by Patrick Miller in 4th. Paul Canning finishing in 5th ahead of Mark Bowen in 6th. Carl Pye in 7th overall and as the 1st restricted driver.
SENIOR ROTAX MAX 177
Four Rotax 177 karts contested the final race of the day. In fading light conditions, Mel Cooke led the group off and making the most of the conditions, stayed in front from start to finish. Cavin Doyle finishing in 2nd place, ahead of Pip Lawn in 3rd and Ian Harvey in 4th.
